A film with a few inspired moments – mostly towards the end – sprinkled in with a whole lot of awkward, even mean, portions. The result is a major disappointment.
Takes pain and loss and gives it a slightly glossy treatment that holds the drama but doesn’t quite get to the point of complete emotional puppetry.
A classic Judge film: somewhat uneven but filled with interesting, albeit clueless, characters and funny set-ups.
There’s no denying the raw and energetic feel Smith created with a memorable script, great characters and a genuine sense of Gen X angst.
Smith’s most mature film. Yes, it’s filled with crude dialogue, blunt descriptions of sex and an overkill of Star Wars references, but it uses these to dig deeper and make its subject matter more accessible.
An exercise in tedium and yearning for the good, old days where straight-up action films were respected by the masses.
Reminds us that no matter where you are, this third rock from the sun of ours is a gorgeous thing.
Has many moments rooted in movie magic, but there’s also a whole lot of filler that brings the movie to a length that’s more than bearable.
Although it’s hampered by rushed pacing and some plot contrivances, Bad Ronald isn’t actually that bad.
