Sellers uses simple looks and gestures to bring light to some very serious situations. At many points it’s like he’s in a trance, truly embodying Chance.
When it comes to cinematic fashion and romance, perhaps none are more iconic than Blake Edwards’ Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
Took the sleaze of the teen comedy and spun it into something that’s both hugely entertaining and extremely insightful.
Occasionally interesting, always beautiful and regularly tedious, the film attempts to capture a time and a feeling yet it ultimately fails to provide the depth needed to make it wholly successful.
At its simplest, it’s a gorgeous film with beautiful period costumes and intricate set designs. However, something tells me that’s not the level director Saul Dibb wanted to achieve greatest on.
Attempting to tap into the public’s collective fears and suspicions comes D.J. Caruso’s preposterous Eagle Eye, an action film with plenty of thrills but I have no idea what alternate reality it’s set in.
American Teen presents itself as getting inside the lives of America’s current youth culture. But the very idea of individuality is lost because it doesn’t go deep enough into the lives of its subjects to fully convey the idea.
Paul W.S. Anderson’s outer space horror Event Horizon is an example of a potentially great and complex idea given a simplistic and ultimately ridiculous execution.
