A film with lots of great ideas yet none of them come to fruition.
At times serious, others farcical, it’s a film that ignores expectations and creates an experience that’s like a helium balloon. It slowly lets itself out before finally settling.
The epitome of self indulgence.
A solid film of somewhat dated Cold War-era warnings of global conquest and strife filled with moments that are both dramatic and laughable at the same time.
Despite its seemingly constant action, the focus was way too light for my liking, resulting in a film that’s often more corny than it is enthralling.
Zhang weaves a complex and interesting story but the ultimate strength of Hero is its poetic beauty.
A funny, often hilarious, film that proves that a story doesn’t need to be completely new just as long as there’s a spin on it to make it different.
The film is sweet and innocent, just as one might expect. While not horrible, I can’t heap praise on it either.
More interested in the villain than the hero, First Flight is a bland look at one of the sides of the DC universe that’s normally much more interesting.
A film that is at times laughable yet at the same time, over 15 years after its release, its premise is still up for debate and discussion.
