No Turning Back is intense at its core, looking at not just the tough choices we make but the process that goes into making them.
While Porky’s may have spawned hundreds, if not thousands, of imitators, it’s having trouble keeping up with the barriers it broke more than two decades ago.
This part of the story peels away at the heart and emotions of its central characters.
The Corporation is another strike against suits, board room meetings and the brands and chain stores we know we should hate but we use anyways.
The success or failure of a film such as this depends on the viewer’s willingness to seek out what’s happening in the film.
Sets an example for future religious films. It’s able to get its point and purpose across in a way that’s both entertaining and doesn’t alienate the broader audience.
What makes it stand out is the fact that there’s some subversive politics happening beyond the fighting that is refreshing.
A very confident picture that is carefully constructed and immensely intriguing.
